How it works

The menu comes from the restaurant, not from us

Every day our software opens the restaurant’s website (“today’s menu” page, PDF, online board) and extracts the dishes, set menus and prices it publishes. It adds nothing, completes nothing, and never turns a missing price into a likely one.

On each card, “read at HH:MM” is the real time the source was read.

When there is no menu, we say so

A restaurant may publish nothing, publish only a permanent menu, or post its menu on a social network we do not read. In those cases the card shows the reason (“not published today”, “not verifiable”) and the time of the check — never an invented dish.

No rating, no reviews, no ranking

arc-menu.ch does not rate restaurants and shows no reviews. Restaurants that have published a daily menu come first, then results are sorted by distance. A photo is shown only if it comes from the restaurant’s website and we have checked that this website really is its own (its address or phone number appears on it); otherwise, a plain icon. No photos from directories, platforms, social networks or stock image libraries.

Towns covered

A town page exists only when we list at least three restaurants in that locality — geolocated, neither closed nor off-topic (official locality derived from coordinates, source swisstopo). The counters shown are measured live.

Your data

Searching near you uses your device’s location, which is not stored. The site is hosted in Switzerland by AXIONYX.io Sàrl, Neuchâtel.
